The main protagonist of the Scales of Light series. Around 18 human years old, Lumin is a sympathetic young dragon who lives with his parents in the Fourth Volcano of the Kalyrus Mountains. His features are quite different than that of a typical Cyndret, including crescent horns, a bearded muzzle, frills, and sparkly pale yellow scales with white stripes. The satchel he often wears was made by his father, Colburn. Possessing a compassionate and curious mentality, Lumin tends to care more for others than his own life. His favorite pastimes are resting near the ocean and reading in the Scrollcave.
(Artist note: Keep in mind this reference image above should be flipped, as the scar is meant to be on the right side of his head)

One of the four main protagonists in the first book of the Scales of Light series. Around 20 human years old, Kieri is quite literally a hot-headed young dragon with a lack of patience. He lives with his parents, who are both Cyndra Instructors, in Castle Forgies. In addition to his high status, Kieri is the fastest and most popular Cyndret in the kingdom. Out of his many friends, he cherishes his bond with Lumin the most, with the two eventually becoming best friends. One of his main quirks is customarily lolling out his tongue whenever he's feeling gleeful. Kieri enjoys decorating himself with all kinds of jewelry, especially gold horn rings. His dream is to become the best Cyndra warrior of the age and have the most popular female Cyndret as a mate.
One of the four main protagonists in the first book of the Scales of Light series. Around 22 human years old, Anaxadas is grouchy, bitter, and edgy, while hardly caring for the affairs of anyone else. In his younger years, poor relationships with both his parents caused him to care only for the one thing that would please them: His friendship with Kieri. In addition, he doesn't believe he is worthy of the female Cyndret's love he desires. Before this, however, Anaxadas was the cleverest Cyndret of his time. Despite having such high intelligence, none of it meant anything if no one ever loved him. Anaxadas now lives his days in solitude, hoping to please Kieri as much as possible. He no longer has any aspirations for his future, instead resigning to his miserable life of disappointment.
One of the four main protagonists in the first book of the Scales of Light series. Around 19 human years old, Glarice tends to be a perfectionist and is always concerned about the details of something. She is the last of her kind without Frostblight, a repulsive disease that causes Frossilas to become deathly ill. Glarice lives with her mother, a sister to Queen Shiver, and her obnoxious younger brother. Rarely does she ever see her father, who spends most of his time serving at Castle Winnuen. Her goal is to find an antidote for Frostblight, no matter the cost. In her spare time, she studies unique features she finds on dragons as inspiration for her ice carving designs. The metal barb on Glarice's tail helps her to use it for such carvings, but it also serves as a humiliating reminder that she was hatched with a blunt tail.
A side protagonist in the Scales of Light series. Around 7 human years old, Kaida has a cute appearance and tends to act playful most of them time. Her rosy pink scales are still developing in color at her youthful age, but she hopes they don't change too much when she fully matures. Kaida adores the color purple and will collect just about treasure with that shade. The black gems on her necklace represent her royal status as a Cyndra Princess. She loves her parents and her older brother with all her heart, regardless of the fact they are the Cyndra King and Queen, and a prince, respectively.
The main antagonist in the first book of the Scales of Light series. Around 30 human years old, Razzar loves nothing more than to fight other dragons to the death. As a Silgail, he relishes his raw strength and fears almost no opponent due to his impenetrable scales. His domination over lesser foes brings Razzar pleasure, but he is secretly reluctant to challenge dragons that are clearly bigger and more powerful than him. Both of his brothers serve him without question, as is Silgail tradition. His father, General Gaul, often instructs him not to act too prideful. However, Razzar hardly cares for what his father says and only stays with him since he was assigned to Gaul's Silgail squadron.
The secondary antagonists of the Scales of Light series. Pristine King Malcerr created the Prismclaws with the intention to replicate the Balancers that the former Pristine King Thatador once had. Each have their own personalities, as well as "gifts" that Malcerr provided to them in exchange for their eternal service. In addition to their status as Pristine dragons, the Prismclaws hold ultimate authority over all the dragons of Creowyn.
Prismclaw Bunsen has increased physical size, equivalent to that of 10 full-grown dragons. This was to satisfy his insatiable hunger, which he couldn't control on his own while growing up. Bunsen is both greedy and voracious, preferring to devour dragons for every meal.
Prismclaws Crontheus and Corrid are siblings with very different attitudes. Crontheus is vain, seeking the full attention of any dragon he comes across. He gained the deceptive power to create false images of himself, along with the beautiful scales he had always desired for himself. Corrid is shy, and constantly worried about what others thought of her when growing up. She was gifted the ability to read the minds of other dragons by simply staring into their eyes, a feat Malcerr himself is wary of. Both also have the ability to fuse their bodies with light to make their bodies vanish.
Prismclaw Grave possesses the power to breath fellsmog, the breath of an Umbrai dragon. While still a Pristine, Grave's appearance is both menacing and ominous, even by dragon standards. His original name was Truthseeker, but Malcerr changed it to match his new heartless nature. Grave won't hesitate to kill a dragon--- even if it's an innocent hatchling.
Two of the four main protagonists in Balancer Tales and side protagonists in the Scales of Light series. In addition, they are both siblings. Kholar is the younger of the two.
Balancer Kholar is studious and almost always has his snout in a scroll. In Scales of Light, his scales are minty green from attempting to fit in with the local Terra dragons. He possesses much wisdom and will eagerly share his advice with dragons who are willing to listen to him for a while.
Balancer Luna is kind-hearted and faithful to the ones she loves. Her appearance doesn't change much throughout her life, and neither does her desire to do good. Luna's dream is to see the dragons of Creowyn living in harmony with one another, with as little strife as possible. While she desires peace, Luna is quite formidable in a fight, using her Spectrial Shields to their full potential in any stressful scenario.
