I'm a proud Christian, digital artist, and author of the Scales of Light series. I started writing when I was 18, and only began drawing just a year before then. Dragons have always appealed to me as amazing characters to write or sketch about. I've pretty much dedicated every last bit of my free time to creating stories or making art for them. I'm proud of what I accomplished, and I'm thankful I can now share what I've made with y'all!
Other than being a young artist and author, here's what else you should know about me!
Elanco Academic Intern
I've been working as an intern at Elanco's Headquarters for over 2 years. I work in the IT department, specializing in Asset Management. My main jobs are to re-image returned devices for disposal or reuse, keep track of device inventory, and help employees who need technical assistance inside the building.
I also work with the Communications team as a cameraman for live quarterly Town Hall sessions. On occassion, I'll help out with other video projects they film as well. I ultimately hope to become a full-time employee under this team since I'm passionate about their kind of work.
Ivy Tech Student
The associate's degree I'm aiming for is Visual Communications (VISC). I've been attending for over 2 years now, starting in high school by using their dual-enrollment system. A VISC associate's degree will help me land a videography related job, as long as I also have a good portfolio.
VISC classes also teach about art, digital design, and writing as well as photography and video production. Courses such as Art Fundamentals and Typography have been especially useful in the creation of content for Scales of Light. Without those classes, I likely wouldn't have drawn the characters nor design the cover myself!
Baseball Enthusiast & Diehard Chicago Cubs Fan
I love baseball. My dad got me invested in it when I was growing up, and it's my favorite thing to watch on TV. We used to live in Illinois, which is why I'm a fan of the Chicago Cubs! The year they won the World Series in 2016 was one of the greatest moments I ever had with my dad, and I'll never forget that magical night.
My dad also started a tradition where my family travels to see 1 Cubs game a year when they play in Cincinnati. It started when he first took me to a game on my 18th birthday, and I've enjoyed it ever since!
Sometimes I like to practice pitching. I'm a lefty, which caused me to stand out in little league as a pitcher. It's my favorite baseball position, and I'd still be excited to use my skills on a team if I ever got the opportunity. I can also teach pitching to anyone that's willing to learn!
Writing Scales of Light Book 2
Now that my first book has been finished, I can begin writing the next one in the series. I've already completed a few chapters and already have the entire plot down. So for all the readers who want to know, yes: I've already started working to continue Scales of Light!
Sooner or later, I might end up posting a few snippets of Book 2 here, so keep an eye out!
Publishing Balancer Tales
Even with the second Scales of Light book in the making, I'll still be continuing to make more Balancer Tales! With thing in mind, I started wondering if I should publish them in a short story series. Unfortunately, I don't really know how that all would work yet. Just know that I am considering this, and I will provide updates on how this goes!
